A guess - I've heard some EXEs, and also some ActiveX/OCX components that may be used in VFP apps are not compatible with Windows Data Execution Prevention (DEP). In case that's what's causing your issue you could try disabling DEP per http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/Change-Data-Execution-Prevention-settings?SignedIn=1 .
