>>>Thanks. If you're talking about the issue before the most recent one, that's my final one.

>>I did not know that. I'm sure there is a story in there somewhere but guess if you wanted to tell it to us you would have. Your SQL column will be missed by at least one subscriber.

>CoDe is a great magazine put together by great people, and Rod Paddock helped me out many times along the way, more than I can count.

A lot of us know what you mean about burnout. After three years leading the Chicago FoxPro user group I reached that point. It was a good gig in terms of attracting clients but it took an awful lot of time away from paying work. I must have been a glutton for punishment because I was giving at least as much time to AYSO (youth soccer) as the referee administrator. In theory it's an easy job, just assigning refs to each game, but it practice it was full of surprises. You're the one who gets calls from high school refs at 11:30 Friday nights with the lamest excuses you have ever heard in your life explaining why they won't be able to be there in the morning. Which means you either have to find a last minute sub or do the game yourself.

I encourage you to sign Katy up for AYSO. It's good exercise and really good socializing. It's not competitive; no standings are kept and one of the precepts is Everyone Plays. Allie and Emily are still friends with girls they met playing soccer when they were little.

It's also where I got my opinion of Mexican Americans. To be honest I didn't know many Hispanics before soccer. What I discovered is they are no different from anyone else. Parents love their kids. The kids are happy when they score a goal and disappointed when they don't play as well as they wanted to. Kids are kids. Predispositions don't come until later.
