>>I'm still here. Allie is coming down today and will be taking me to wherever on Sunday or Monday. The surprising thing is I am having a hell of a time finding a 28 day rehab place that will take me in. Tricia recommended a place in Wisconsin but they don't take Illinois insurance. (Has anyone mentioned lately that our health care system is hopelessly screwed up?) The cost if you are not an insured Wisconsin resident is $995 per day. I am still working on it and am sure some place will turn up. This has to happen.

>>Mike, I do not mean to be a jackass, but I am going to give you some tough love. You really aren't going to rehab - from this response, I can tell that you are just thinking about it. You are still giving yourself an out - either you can't afford the $995 per day or no place will take you or it is raining or some other lame excuse.

>>You have made your battle with alcohol such a public issue here. Don't make everyone here enablers. When you are actually on your way to be admitted, come back and tell us that you are going to rehab. Until then, I, for one, do not believe it. I do believe that you think you really mean it this time, but you know what they say about the road to hell...

>>I am sure that I will catch hell for this response but so be it. Someone needs to make sure that you actually follow through on this...

>I was actually thinking the same thing having gone through this before with my mother, who died at 44 with severe jaundice. She always had excuses for everything. When I read Mike's post, my first thought was, "He'll find something that makes it not possible to go." and bingo... 995 /day, etc. Now he'll get a real chance to see how Obamacare works for those who are not on the public dole. Maybe he'll change his mind about it....

Please don't irritate me again about Obamacare. That is going to go down as his greatest achievement.

I am going to go to 28 day inpatient. You can write that down in ink. I sure hope it doesn't cost $995 a day (multiply by 28) but I have reached the point that I will do whatever is necessary
