Bubkes. Yiddish. When I lived in the city I had a Jewish neighbor who explained to me what it meant. (There were many Jewish neighbors. West Rogers Park is the old Jewish part of of Chicago. Saul Bellow lived there as a kid). He also explained to me that Hebrew is the formal language and Yiddish is the street language.

I would give more for a good night's sleep right now than a drink. It is crap. That will be one good thing about rehab. And I really am going, BTW. Right after the World Cup.
