>I can not watch American football. I don't understand it and I don't like it at all.

I played it as a kid and understand it but also don't like it as it's played on TV.
TV has made a different sport out of it.
There was a time when players didn't do celebratory dances after making a successful play, there were no surgically manufactured cheerleaders, no instant replay, no booth review, and timeouts were real timeouts - not commercial breaks.

If you get a chance, go to a local high school game on a nice fall day. You might like it.
There's not much to understand. Like soccer, they're trying to get the ball down the field to the other team's goal.

I enjoy watching high school games here in Hamilton.
The half-time show is an old fashioned marching band composed of high school kids playing Sousa badly, but it's a lot more fun to watch than some guys jabbering nonsense.
The player's aren't as talented as they are on TV, but they give it all they have.
That's football as it was meant to be enjoyed - a nice way to spend a fall afternoon.
It's fast moving and it can be fun.
Anyone who does not go overboard- deserves to.
