Could you elaborate on your situation of VFP7 and VFP9? For example, if you:

- have VFP7 source files
- work on them in VFP9
- create a .EXE in VFP9
- try to run it on a different machine that has only VFP7 runtimes installed

then you might get strange effects. I haven't tested that particular scenario. You can download runtime installers from http://www.foxpert.com/runtime.htm .

Are you accessing the app through a Terminal Server/Remote Desktop session (or something similar)?

Could you post a screen shot of what you're seeing? You can use Alt-PrtSc or PrtSc to capture the app or screen to the clipboard, copy that into MS Paint or some other image manipulation program, save as a PNG or JPG and attach it to a message here.

One thing that can cause appearance problems is themes. You could experiment with _Screen.Themes = .F. . This is just a guess, from what I've seen themes just causes appearance issues, not disabling controls.
