Anyone can work to be an MVP. It's given to people for providing community support. It used to be strictly tied to Microsoft products, but earlier this year Microsoft announced their first MVPs for Open Source projects.

No cars given. But we do get an annual visit to Redmond (we pay airfare). Microsoft picks up hotel and meals. (For the record, my car is an 2006 Chevy Trailblazer that I bought used)

>So you are saying that MVP is somewhere in the distant future for me too? :)) (btw, what kind of car do they give MVPs; convertible or sedan?)
