You probably could've just right-clicked on the setup icon and selected "Run as Administrator," rather than having the setup auto-launch or launching the setup program in the usual fashion.
Something you'll probably find out eventually -- there may be problems when trying to compile a COM+ DLL in VFP. In VFP6 the IDE simply hangs and you don't get a DLL (because the auto-registration of the DLL ends up not working due to insufficient privileges), whereas in VFP9 you do get a DLL, but won't work right (similar to VFP6 the DLL registration fails, which in turn causes the DLL or related TLB or VBR not containing valid information). However, if you start the IDE by right-clicking and selecting "Run as Administrator" it works as expected. You could also change the shortcut so that the "Run as Administrator" option is selected. Not limited to Windows 8x -- it's something you need to do in Windows 7 (and probably Vista as well).
