Yes, we tried several reconfigurations, including the Alaska software one, for someone had posted it while we were trying to solve this issu, and it does not fix it, in fact, as I mentioned before we run SMB2 with no problems on Windows 7 and 8 (I explained in some previous post what policy we changed, but now I forgot) but with 8.1 even running SMB1 we have problems within the hour, sometimes even minutes, and the problem is in the WorkStations, as we do not changed the backend hosting the VFP data files, and this issue we have it with all 8.1 machines, as soon as we do the upgrade or if it has it pre-installed, it does not matter. But it seems that 8.1 has intermittent network disconnections in both wired and wireless networks, so we think that might be the issue (I was only involved indirectly in this, the network admins were trying to solve it)
