>>When you find yourself laid up in the house for weeks on end you find yourself newly appreciative of good movies and TV shows. The one I am enjoying at the moment is "The Bourne Identity," the original starring Matt Damon. It's entertaining and exotic, a true suspense story. A man with no recollection of who he is, a tempest at sea. John Cheever wrote that if you are going to write fiction you should write about tempests at sea. (He wrote about anything but is arguably the best short story writer of the 20th century).

Any man whose heart doesn't beat faster for Franka Potente might as well be dead. She was equally compelling in "Run Lola Run".

I had forgotten that a very young Clive Owen was in "The Bourne Identity".
