I don't want subsidies.
I am not a welfare case - I am middle class.
I am not going to ask my neighbors to pay my expenses, nor do I want to pay theirs.

>You've quoted your unsatisfactory experience in what I presume is the private individual market. Sorry but "rising premiums and falling benefits" is the inevitable trajectory in that market.

Weird.
My experience with free markets has been far from inevitable rising prices.
Amazon and Walmart have pushed prices lower for a lot of stuff I buy.
HEB supermarkets here in Texas are so cheap that other markets have given up.

I now use skype and VOIP phone services - free and 1c/minute.
Good old AT&T was a government granted monopoly that was happy to charge me 50c/min and more.

Perhaps you have experience with layers of bureaucracy and regulation making things more efficient and cheaper?
I would be interested to know how that works.
