I have no problem with life imprisonment if there is the slightest doubt about a first degree murder conviction. But that's not the case here. The guy was guilty. There are also reports that he smiled arrogantly at the victim's family right before they gave him the first set of drugs. He got what he deserved.>>>
>>>It should come as no shock that I agree with you. My politics are slightly to the right of Attila the Hun. He was a nice guy but too soft on crime {g}. Let's see how many (liberals) don't take this statement the way that I meant it....

>>American politics are far more to the right than about all western nations, even terms of crime, but as far as result goes you still have the most violent society and about the most people inprisoned.

>If we have the most violent society, then when the hell do we have people risking their lives to come here????
Its all about the money, money money...
Anyways.
http://www.cyc-net.org/features/viewpoints/c-toughoncrime.htmlhttp://www.urban.org/publications/307337.htmlThe problem is that "tough on crime" sounds like revenge and justice, but it actually is more of tough talk of than of getting results. Its a shame that no more effort is done in prevention of crime. It would make a world of difference.
