>>>>>>>>>>>>Hi,
>>>>>>>>>>>>
>>>>>>>>>>>>I have a report - print-out of a purchase order - that was created for me by a consultant (many years ago). If you look at the attached image you will see that the Detail band is narrower than header and the rest of the report. There is also a vertical line on the right of the Detail band that I cannot "move." And I can't seem to find how a way to make the Detail band the same width as the rest of the report.
>>>>>>>>>>>>
>>>>>>>>>>>>What do you think he set to make the Detail band narrower and how do I change it? TIA

>>>>>>>>>>Thank you for your input. But I don't understand what setting to check. If I extend the entire Detail band vertically (making it larger), I see a solid vertical line on the right.
>>>>>>>>>>But I cannot find the way to get rid of it or move it. And I can't fine the way to change the width of the Detail band. So I am not sure which "column" you mean.

>>>>>>>>>Hi,
>>>>>>>>>Open your report (modi report) right click in the grey area next to the report, you will be presented with a menu, click on last item Properties, you will than be presented with a form like on attached file ReportProperties.png. This report has colums (2) with a width of 678, so look at attached file Report.png it shows similar like your picture.
>>>>>>>>>Now before you mess around be sure to have the reportfiles backedup!

>>>>>>>>Koen,
>>>>>>>>
>>>>>>>>I think I understand your point now. Even though I have one column I can change the width. And in fact if I change the width in the properties, the Detail band becomes wider. The only possible "problem" is that mysterious vertical line is still visible but now outside (to the right) of the report Detail band. I hope it will not message up in the print out.
>>>>>>>>Again, thank you.
>>>>>>>
>>>>>>>Commonly a problem with the page setup (aka paper size)
>>>>>>
>>>>>>I can't seem to figure how the page setup would cause the problem. Attached is the image where you will see a vertical line to the right of the Detail band. I have never seen this type of line in any other report and I can't get rid of it or understand what it is.
>>>>>
>>>>>I've seen this type of behavior in .net sometimes too. Its an area that is an artifact of a previous setting or something. I would try to make the page width 10 inches and then set the width back to 8.5. By invalidating the area of the artifact, you may force windows to redraw and eliminate it. I don't think it will cause a problem, but who knows...
>>>>
>>>>I tried your suggestion (right now) and what happens is the "mysterious" line moves to the right when I make the page wider and then moves back to the left when I reduce the width. As if the line is "tied" to something in the Detail band of the report. The good thing is that so far customer(s) have not notices any side effects of this line (of course if they print this report).
>>>>Thank you.
>>>
>>>Have you tried browsing the .frx table to see if you can find the vertical line?
>>>I've gotten rid of mysterious objects that way.
>>
>>I was thinking about doing just this. But the .FRX file is fairly big so I wasn't sure how to "identify" such object. But in the end this will have to be done; even if I go record-by-record.
>>Thank you.

>If all else fails, you could go through the tedious process of re-generating the report form -- basically create new report form, then copy & paste all the objects over, then run through all the variables and the settings on the report bands. I do know that I've had frequent problems in VFP6 with display artifacts (sometimes "ghosts" of items) while editing report forms -- usually forcing a screen refresh would clear most of it up.
