Aside from commissioned sales jobs, retail has never paid well.
Montgomery Ward, Sears, Target, Service Merchandise.. none of those is or was renowned for paying well.
KMart and ToysRUS were downright abusive with lack of respect of their staff including unpaid overtime.
I never saw that kind of thing at a Walmart.
What is the "situation" that Walmart is taking advantage of exactly?
