That's true, John
That certainly applies to the military, national security, foreign affairs and to legislation.

His influence on the economy and jobs, however, is not nearly as great as the influence exerted by the Fed.
The president does appoint the Fed chairman, but Ben Bernanke, who presided over the Fed during most of Obama's term, was appointed by GW Bush, so the responsibility chain is murky.
Anyone who does not go overboard- deserves to.
