>As for the premiums, most of the major actuaries are projecting two rounds of significant increases to premiums between the fall of this year and early spring of 2015. That doesn't include the recent 7.5% (and remember, the promise from the president was that they wouldn't increase a penny). And remember, that 7.5% is just an average. In some states it's double digits.

>Investors Business Daily is reporting a large drop in people paying premiums. Notice how the White House has been tight-lipped about enrollments. Regardless, there's confirmation that Senior White House Advisors (mainly Valerie Jarrett) have been brokering bailout deals with insurance companies. An estimated 80% are expecting some kind of risk corridor payment to cover their losses on Obamacare-compliant plans. When the employer mandate eventually kicks in, you're going to see chaos.

Lets revisit this in 5 years and see who was right and who was not. Its no use "debating" this with emotions, anger and hate embedded into the motivations and arguments. For unbiased conclusions, it is still too early.

Leaving any politics aside, I still think Obama care is a good move. Currently we're implementing our system with an HL7 module for medical billing in Ohio. In all other countries our clients can use the native billing module, but for American clients, medical billing is a lot more complicated. The extra costs of the complexity is eventually drilling down into your insurance policy bill. There are other things that drive costs up significantly which have lead that the average American pays twice or triple as much than in other countries for only mediocre quality of healthcare.

This has been going on for decades with the two political parties holding each other hostage with the netto result of doing nothing and making things worse over time. Reform of medical insurances was needed. Whether obamacare is the most optimal? I do not think so. I'd rather see this as a first step to better and more affordable healthcare. But it will take time.... and you'll have to give it a chance. Unfortunately the political forces do not want to give it a chance for motives that do not have anything to do with the problem in question.

Again... give it time....
