>>Dude, you've cherry-picked. The numbers say US quality is average- lower even than New Zealand that spends well under half as much, but still manages universal coverage. US cost is higher if you consider only those with access.

>>In your shoes I'd be asking why costs keep rising when you already spend too much. There's a money leak somewhere. It's not the doctors and nurses, so where is it?

Are you seriously debating a doctor with experience in several countries on the topic of health care, based on what you have read or heard wherever? As a fellow layman I might diagnose you with egomania.

Over and out on this thread. Same old same old. It's time for a little Seinfeld.

(Classic line from a recent rerun -- the gang of four are at a party on Long Island hosted by a pompous couple and their equally pompous friends. One of them is a woman who is engaged and wants everyone to know it. "Has anyone seen my fiancee?" she calls out from the couch. "Has anyone seen my fiancee? Does anyone know where my baby is?" Elaine: "Mybe the dingoes ayte your bybee." Now that was a great line. She probably didn't write it but no writer could hope for it to be delivered better).
