Some would say that the Duindorp (or is it Keizerstraat?) issue is specific to that location and anyone not from Duindorp would have issues with the locals.

Americans are often chastised by Europeans for *some* views on the immigration problem here. Whether or not anyone feels that America should have free and open borders, I think a large portion of this country has no idea the immensity of the influx of foreigners right now. As to Netherlands, I loved my time there and found that the views and behavior varied greatly in different areas - just as it does here in the U.S. For both countries, I think the more moderate (and probably more common) views are mostly ignored by the media and hence other countries mostly focus on the media attention the extreme views receive.
