Thanks for the link. Excellent example:

>>“The last time I bought an EpiPen, it cost $60, and that was too much. Now it’s $380.

Definitely I agree that the supplier deserves a premium price for coming up with such a good device. However, a brief check online says that the unsubsidized price of EpiPen in New Zealand is US$98 + sales tax, and that after shipping and distribution costs from the US (where Epipen is made) to the end of the planet. They'll be making good coin at $98.

There are other options, e.g. Auvi-Q in the US and AnaPen in Europe that ought to allow a more competitive market. Auvi-Q is a device that speaks to you to tell you how to dispense the Adrenaline (I kid you not!) whereas Anapen is a KISS device like the Epipen. Plus there's a generic device in the US whose cost I could not confirm online.
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us.
