In that sense I don't think he's such an idiot. There are only a few NBA franchises and he now owns one of them, and it's in the #2 U.S. market. It's a good team, too, with an upside much bigger than that of the Lakers. The Clippers have always lived in the long shadow of the Lakers and now it's the other way around IMO. Not bad for a guy who started out selling soap.
