>>Political or not, it is very VERY clear that the guy broke the law. Perry abused his power by threatening Travis County District Attorney Rosemary Lehmberg with a veto for Public Integrity Unit funding if she did not resign. That is abuse of power & illegal. As I said before he has no valid argument - he crossed the line. Now if he would of just kept his mouth shut and not made such a threat, then did the veto - he would be ok. But that is not what happened, he made the threat & then carried it out - thus he broke the law. Very simple.

>>He gave her the chance to resign. I would not want a drunken DA who has so little regard for human life that she has no qualms about getting behind the wheel when her blood alcohol is 3 times the legal limit. Apparently you find her behavior acceptable.

>You're missing the point. I never said anything about her behavior and of course I do not approve of drunk driving. I also do not approve of a governor who breaks the law either. I also have no issue with him asking her to resign. I DO however have a problem with him threatening to veto funding if she did not resign. You can not do that it is abuse of power and thus illegal. THAT is where he crossed the line. Do you follow my thinking here?

Hi Victor,

Would you like to renew our wagering? I take the side that Gov Perry eventually prevails. Let's see, our last wager (which you lost and did not yet pay up) was for $1.

Sweeten the pot to say $100 or just double or nothing?

Ken
