I have two SQL servers (2012) on opposite sides of the country, each on a working group (not a domain). I have set up one to be a publisher and distributor. When I set up the subscription there are no errors, but the distribution agent wont start. I look in the SQL Agent log and get errors about not being able to determine if my user has permissions. I try to start the distribution manually, but it spins and then does not start, but gives no error.

I believe there is a user or permission problem somewhere, but because the documentation on replication over a non-trusted connection is almost non-existent, I have no idea where to look for a solution.

Any and all help is greatly appreciated. ... if knowledge on this is not at hand, I would like to submit a MS ticket, but am not sure how to do so.
