There's only one way to have any success in it. Practice, Practice, Practice.

I generally don't use a script. (I'm now thinking of the funny line from the movie Tropic Thunder..."I don't read the script, the script reads me")

I would give lesson plans and scripts to students to help them follow along, but I don't use them. Years ago I decided I wanted to come off as organic and impromptu as possible. That meant a number of screw-ups and mistakes along the way. The truth is that higher end training companies expect their instructors to be able to present for a full 7 hours off the top of their heads.
