>>> Its just that the alcohol cuts down some of the tree preventing you to see the forest.
>Yes, that might be the case, but it does more than that.
>During the 1970's before the 2 martini lunch went out of fashion, the second martini was called "loudmouth soup."
>By the end of the meal the decibel level at the table was deafening.
>Now I can enjoy a beer or a glass of wine, but for health reasons I once gave up booze entirely for about 20 years.
>At the golf club I played, it was customary to have a couple of drinks after a round so after giving up booze, I drank club soda.
>It was awful.
>I can attest to this with certainty.. there is nothing more painfully boring than being the only sober person in a group.
>After a couple of pops, the nonsense that these otherwise-intelligent people spewed out was absurd and they thought that it was profound.
>After a few episodes like that, I decided to excuse myself after the round and go home without stopping at the table.

Since I drove the small land mass masquerading as a car (a 1970 Bonneville), I somehow always got roped into driving when friends and I would go out. Got a LOT of free CocaCola and OJ that way.
It was during this period that I discovered I didn't tolerate fools, idiots or drunks well.
It was during this period that my friends discovered they didn't want to get that drunk around me. Especially after I had one of them madly calling around Harris Country trying to figure out where her (nonexistant) court hearing was. She made the mistake of saying "God I must have been drunk last night, I don't remember ANYthing!"
Win-Win!
