This sounds a bit dogmatic.
There are many custom data entry solutions out there that use grids. I'll grant that the VFP grid (and even the .NET grid) out of the box aren't all that great for data entry - but there are third party grid controls that certainly showcase data entry features
The truth is that many business users want something along the lines of the Excel experience in a data entry module. A simple reply of, "a grid is a horrible control for data entry" is not likely to cut it, unless a more specific explanation can be given.
