As with lawyers, there are exceptional MD's who deserve respect. But they are harder and harder to find.>
>I must be really fortunate. I had an outstanding surgeon for my recent hip replacement. I also have a very caring and responsive PCP. My dentist is also a really great doctor. I am so sorry that your experience with the doctors that you have dealt with has been so bad.
A long time ago I had heart surgery and that MD did a pretty good job. (I'm alive and can walk on a golf course, so he must have.)
My dentist is OK, but the rest are mediocre, pompous money-grabbing shamans whom I avoid as much as I can.
Many women in my generation - including some in my close family- were given thalidomide by these would-be "healers" and I saw close up what damage these people can cause with their pompous certitude about the meds they dispense in collusion with big pharma.
They are a necessary nuisance and I recognize that, but I certainly won't seek their advice on public policy if it involves money that might come out of their pockets.
Anyone who does not go overboard- deserves to.
