I'll clarify - I'm saying "these general days".

Clearly 3 of your names were at the beginning of U.S. history, and even when Lincoln was president, the US was smaller....I hesitate to say "less complicated" because even then things were complicated.....but clearly the roles and responsibilities of the President and the administration have grown.
