>>All you really need to do is go to any toy store (or the toy area) and see the 'pink' aisles full of baby dolls, BRATZ dolls, Barbie dolls. prettyprettyprincesscrap. Yeah....the way we socialize girls vs boys hasn't changed in 20 years.
Gotta question nature vs nurture. As a doting father, for years I purchased to order for daughters plural. "Prettyprettyprincesscrap" dominated until about the age of 10-11 when these days boys and girls are spending their time socializing by screen and wearing very similar clothing. It's still different - boys raving about Game of Thrones, girls about Dirty Little Liars and 90210 which IMHO sets an appalling example, but what can you do. I'm also seeing a trend where cosseted little friends of daughters say "beach, sand, ugh" when offered a trip to the seaside. Who'd have though it.
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us."
