>>And designing over complex rubbish which is then outsourced to India...

IME the ACA website is indicative. Corporates enjoyed massive fees creating something with lots of flow diagrams and juicy complexity, testament to their own genius to come up with such insights on a par with Leonardo da Vinci. Then it very nearly tanked, and was rescued in weeks by a small team of LAMP geeks who swept away the baggage and declared that the "metallic component approximately 300mm long with tapered distal profile to a 200mm horizontal 1mm wide straight edge, proximal end shaped into a receptacle with roughly circular formed profile for receipt of similarly shaped shaft approximately 900mm long of mostly circular profile derived from organic support members of Fagaceae or with similar characteristics, shaped proximately into a D-shaped construct with curvature distally and base comprised of softer material of circular profile to accommodate upper limb tactile apparatus of homo sapiens sapiens, distal construct appearing to carry traces of particulate matter suitable for growth of legumes and other vegetable products" does not need a team of thousands as it is just a dirty spade. ;-) Whereas the IT guru who came up with such a description would receive standing ovations from an audience of his (usually his) peers, lauded as a true expert practitioner in the IT arts, worthy of large fees for empowering the use of IT by others for the good of all humanity and awarded MVRG (Most Valuable Rube Goldberg) by vendors who like the higher cost that this sort of behavior locks in. ;-)
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us.
