I do something like this

Erase ListOfFailedFiles.txt

      Erase (laDir(lnX))

      Strtofile(laDir(lnX),'ListOfFailedFiles.txt',1)
   EndTry
Endfor
If adir(laDir,'ListOfFailedFiles.txt')>0
   modi file ListOfFailedFiles.txt
Endif
