>If I have one or more windows open (i.e. MSDOS) and click on the VFP icon to start VFP, it does not get the focus. Whatever window is open still retains the focus and VFP is behind all other open windows. How do I get VFP to get the focus when it is started?

Take a look at whatever CONFIG.FPW file is in effect when you're starting VFP. There may be something in there causing that behaviour. Run SYS( 2019 ) in the Command window to find out which one is in effect.

Some VFP frameworks modify this file extensively.

You can specify a CONFIG.FPW file to use when VFP starts with a command-line parameter e.g.
C:\SomePath\VFP9.EXE -CC:\SomeOtherPath\CONFIG.FPW
You may find your shortcut to start VFP is already doing something like that.
