Keep in mind that VFP has to pull ALL the data in the table from the server to your local machine in order to do this filtering job. So the higher bandwidth you have over this connection, the faster the job is done.

It is only a problem using Win7 and especially Win8 PCs when connected to a server containing the tables. In stand-alone Win7 it does not seem to be an issue. Although having said this, I do have clients using Win7 and there does not seem to be an issue... Or maybe they are putting up with the wait.. :)
