As others already have proven (yes, I had only small hopes that Naomi would check up her own posting) the solution do not neccessarily give the same result sets.
To offer a bit of code as replacement and then stating that one is not sure one understands the earlier code is, hmmm, well intentioned ( as in pavement of road to hell).
Also I am pretty certain that you picked up the differences and ways to disprove while reading.

Personal POV: Offering a full set of permutations of conditions as best way to follow up would not be the best idea / tip to give her, if she wanted to follow up herself - in my book that would be wasteful, as testing every contingency will make sure the project never finishes...

Trying to get a visualization or transation is actually not a bad idea in many cases, while just finding one condition where results are different probably is the easiest way here, at least for the way my mind operates.
