I've heard several conversations about how the current 5-3 Chiefs are more the "real deal" than KC at the 8-0 point last year.
They have wins over Tom Brady, Phillip Rivers, and victories over +.500 teams (New England, Miami, SD).
During KC's recent big years (10-6 in 2010 and 11-5 last year), they beat up on the NFC and didn't do as well in the AFC. The fact that they have a 4-2 conference record right now is amazing.
They almost beat SF and with a better two minute drill at the end, might have beaten Denver
You guys out in Topeka already know this - the games against Buffalo and Pittsburgh (both road games) will have huge wild card implications. And they still have a shot at the division if they beat Denver, since KC beat NE and Denver lost to NE.
Still a number of games to go - but I'm excited.
