I'd say the message is at least a little confused. For example, in Arkansas, where they unseated a Democratic senator and succeeded a Democratic governor with a Republican, they also voted overwhelmingly to raise the minimum wage. Minimum wage increases also passed in several other states.
In Colorado, where they unseated a Democratic senator and make a Democratic sweat, they voted overwhelmingly against a "personhood" law. North Dakota also rejected "personhood."
Oregon and DC legalized marijuana, while Alaska decriminalized it. In Florida, 58% supported legalizing medical marijuana, though it didn't reach the 60-percent threshold required.
So while GOP candidates won a lot of races, GOP ideas lost a bunch.
