And something else I didn't know - GOP now controls 66 of 99 state legislative houses. (Nebraska has the "odd one", so to speak)

Don't get me wrong, the last thing I'm doing is a victory dance for the big victory of the Rs. I don't like personhood bills, and I definitely don't like the political pimp job that Corbett signed in PA dealing with the NRA and the ability to sue local governments (I'm sure you've read about that story, it is a quintessential case of political power gone wild).

Candidly, so long as the R party continues this ridiculous obsession with personhood/heartbeat bills, I sort of rely on the Democratic party to act semi-responsibly, and to keep the crazy aspect of the Rs in check. Well, watching people like Wendy Davis, Udall, and anyone who carries water for Obama, and the idea of "acting responsibly" goes out the window. The D party needed to be sent a message that the American people are tired of "dead from the neck up" liberalism. Maybe the Ds will think twice about adoring a man with no experience, going along with every single thing he wanted....and then fire Debbie Wasserman Schultz, and rethink how they blew it the last six years.

It's too bad there wasn't a way for the Ds to suffer the losses on Tuesday night (and I freely admit, I loved watching MSNBC's reaction, I should have to pay a fee for that kind of entertainment), without the Rs gaining any power. Since we're not ever likely to see a libertarian world, it's better if both parties cool it on the extremism.
