Basically I agree with your premise that telling other people how to live their lives is judgmental and arrogant, it might be harmful and is just downright rude.
Mike Beane, however, advertised his condition incessantly here to people whom he considered his friends and invited discussion about it. Rehab was his idea and people here encouraged him to follow it because he invited their opinions.
That changed the rules of the game for those people and you might want to consider that before being judgmental yourself.
Anyone who does not go overboard- deserves to.
