These dudes and dudettes agree with your interpretation: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3662257/

HOWEVER - a lot of it is down to individual technique. When it comes to outcome, your surgeon is to prosthesis as the driver is to the safest car on the road.

Standard of surgery in the USA is high and you get the very latest prostheses. Outcomes are good. You are younger and there is general agreement that you put uncemented in younger people.

IMHO the big problem (as you will see) is that as each round of discovery is published, best practice can flip-flop back and forward and sometimes an individual design bucks the trend and either is very bad or very good. Don't want to harp on about the Exeter, but its design lacks a collar, allowing the stem to settle in the femur- which turns out to be a marvelous trend that helps the implant last longer than the firmly fixed collared varieties. Who would have thought it. Via luck or inspiration, Professor Ling (who still lives in Exeter and is a very smart gentleman, you would like him) came up with something that common sense says will lead to disaster, but actually is a great result. Welcome to my world. ;-)
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us.
