Yes, there are crackpot viewpoints on both sides. But here's the difference. This state rep in Colorado can ramble on and on all he wants, but the question is whether it impacts any legislature/policy he's involved with. Even with all the nutty things that come out of Joe Biden's mouth, the question is whether it really means anything.

Certainly we don't want elected officials spewing the kind of stuff this guy did, but unless someone can tie it to passed legislation that's part of bad policy, actively violates rights, etc, it's a far cry from the blatant dishonesty that was key in passing the worst piece of legislation in the history of the country.

When the MSM wants to discredit the conservative base, who do they immediately seek out - comments from Rush Limbaugh, Alex Jones, Glenn Beck, and some of the other loudmouth conservative radio personalities. None of them work with Congress to write legislation, none of them are directly involved in public policy, etc. It's their way of attacking the entire conservative realm. It gives new meaning to the phrase, "going after the low-hanging fruit"
