>>>I actually think that businesses (at least profitable ones) shouldn't be allowed to pay full-time employees so little that they qualify for government assistance, except in special cases (such as, say, employing people with mental disabilities). When they do, essentially, the taxpayers are contributing to their profits. Think I heard that Walmart had $40B in profit last year, and that paying a living wage would cut that in half. Seems like $20B ought to be enough in profits.

>>>Who is it that is going to decide how much profit is enough? The government? What is next? Is the government then going to decide when you have earned enough money and then take the excess away from you (above how much they already take in taxes)?

>>The problem is not was is enough (Tamar was using rhetorical figure of speech?) but was is to much. Any amount of currency that is taken from taxpayers wallet and put into profit is to much. In that case - there are $20B Dollars to much.

>Right. The problem is that $20B of that profit was actually from our tax dollars as we supported their employees.

We have that kind of money shifting as well. Poor but hard working people are underpaid, and need to be supported by the society. Employers boldy told them that they get enough, because the society will pay the rest. I hate this.
Let allone the patronization one will recieve from the state if one asks for that. I think mosts have that involuntarily.
