>I have been having all kinds of problems with vfp6. The only system I currently have actively in 6 is a program that waas originally done in vfp3.
>I can hardly do anything for any length of time without my entire computer locking up. Nothing to do at that point but turn it off and turn it back on.
>I suspected I was having a lot of problems because I upgraded to Win98, so I took a whole day and re-formatted my hard drive, and did a clean install of 98, and while everything else on the computer (Dell 333) is running a LOT better, vfp6 is still locking up MANY times a day.
>I never had this problem with vfp3 or 5 on this computer. I am at a loss and very frustrated. I know I posted something similar to this a while back, but if anyone has any ideas, please help!!!!

I had many of the same problems...computer locking up, internal consistency errors etc.etc. Like you, I blamed the operating system, then the hardware but even after reformatting etc., VFP 6.0 refused to behave. Also, when I converted a huge commercial application from 5.0 to 6.0, I lost a lot of performance (i.e. declaring a local variable to 2 to 3 times longer!). I documented all of my problems and forwarded coverage logs to Microsoft. They finally admitted to me that VFP 6.0 had serious problems and they would 'get back to me'. In the meantime, I have abandoned 6.0 and continue to work in 5.0. Much more productively I might add.
