I have two tables
a. Vendor
b. Category

I have a view that contains both tables where pk_vendorid = fk_category. A vendor can be a cake decorator, photographer or something else etc. The category is a combo box that lists all the possbile categories. I do not want to add records to the category table, just the vendor table

How do I add records to the Vendor table, w/o adding records to the category table. At the same time, allow the vendor to select what type of category they fit in?
