You're seriously going to debate this with a doctor? John doesn't tout it much but he is an MD. (And so is his wife). As I have mentioned before, we attended a medical conference together in New Orleans and I saw him talk with other doctors with mutual respect. And I think you know doctors are not in the habit of faking it.
