You didn't ask for my advice but I will give it to you anyway, having been down that road myself. It's great to expose your child to all kinds of things. Good for you. Just don't expect her to necessarily be attracted to all of them. And don't press it. She is already her own person and can be relied upon to let you know whether she likes something or not. The tricky part: getting it out of her in words. You will find yourself many times trying to read the tea leaves.

How was the soccer instructor horrible? Over competitiveness? Overcoaching? Undercoaching? As I think you know, I spent many years coaching and refereeing in AYSO, the main American youth soccer organization. I think I was a good coach, not in the sense of a pro's understanding of the game so much as teaching the basics and helping instill a love of the game. The parents always thanked me and it seemed genuine. The main objective was having a good time and getting to know your teammates, being part of a team. Those are life lessons, not just soccer lessons.
