It is rare, but it does not have one.
The alarm approach is more widely used now. I have seen a lot of stores turning into that direction. Probably because it is less hardware to deal with and easy to negotiate. While the alarm is good, within 5 seconds, someone can easily be off scope running away with the laptop.
As far as using popular ports, I have to say that all of them are already taken on the laptop. :)
But, I will have to give them a call to see about what they would recommend. They might have something not widely known or sort of.
