I'm not 100% positive concerning what fixed my lockup problems but I'll tell you my experiences with VFP 6.0/Win98.

I typically check my email and UT early in the morning. Soon after, I start programming. VFP may/may not have been minimized while I was using IE and Outlook Express.

Soon after I logged off while working in VFP, the computer would lockup. This happened to two different computers in my office. Once I saw this pattern, I started using one computer for email, etc. and one computer for VFP development.

Since I started doing this, I typically have a large FP 2.6 application and the same VFP app. (rewriting) open on the development computer around the clock and never again had a lockup!

I kind of lean towards Outlook Express being the problem, because VFP 6.0 help on the dev. computer uses IE 4.

It would be interesting to find out if others, having the problem, see a similar pattern.

In defense of Win98, I would like to add, it is a much more stable system than Win95. Since switching, I rarely have any problems except as noted above.

>I have been having all kinds of problems with vfp6. The only system I currently have actively in 6 is a program that waas originally done in vfp3.
>I can hardly do anything for any length of time without my entire computer locking up. Nothing to do at that point but turn it off and turn it back on.
>I suspected I was having a lot of problems because I upgraded to Win98, so I took a whole day and re-formatted my hard drive, and did a clean install of 98, and while everything else on the computer (Dell 333) is running a LOT better, vfp6 is still locking up MANY times a day.
>I never had this problem with vfp3 or 5 on this computer. I am at a loss and very frustrated. I know I posted something similar to this a while back, but if anyone has any ideas, please help!!!!
