Right, I'm not humble by nature. I don't teach my kid to be humble and I don't have much use for low-balling one's value.

But there are humbling experiences, which is a different story. I taught for five years, and came across many students who were very smart/capable - but ran into bad circumstances and desperately needed to learn enough to land a job and feed their families.

So that, plus other experiences, makes me say this is a humbling industry where both the good and bad stories put things into perspective. A person can be very proud of what they've done and still feel very fortunate that the stars aligned for them.
