I am using GPLIB for my networking information (who created file, when it was created, etc). GPLIB is third party software that sells for under $200 (i think). You can get a fully functional version of it in the UT download section. The download version just has an annoying splash screen when you load the library. Read the text and go to their website, there you will find a complete list of functions. The list is quite extensive. With the complete list of functions and a fully functional version, you can then decide if it is what you need.
