>I take it you agreed with all the other points. :)

Nope.
Too many moving targets there.

>Gas tax - just one more means of socking it to the lower and middle class....and another context for the govt to collect revenue and use it inefficiently.

Now that gasoline is approaching $2/gallon the NJ legislature is talking about raising the gasoline tax in order to fund government services that can't be funded because of inadequate revenue from other sources. The thinking is that with the lower cost of gasoline, the tax bite won't be felt.
That's wrong for two reasons:
First - Gasoline prices will rise again. Companies have begun shutting down refineries and oil rigs because of the lower prices and some fracking operations have been shutting down. The oil market is efficient. It will quickly get rid of the glut and prices will rise again.
Second - The tax WILL be felt. Those lower prices have had the effect of giving a tax-free salary increase to low income commuters and they've come to depend on it. A tax increase will effectively be an after-tax salary cut. Once the prices go back up, the bite will be even worse.
New Jersey needs to cut government costs. We saw in the Bridgegate scandal the Port Authority has dozens of 6 figure jobs (from both parties) where the occupant has no visible responsibility.
Our governor spends more time flying on private jets out of the state than he does in the state.
You don't fee that pig more money.
You slim it down.

With regard to Community Colleges - guaranteeing a federal revenue stream to these institutions is a potential incentive for corruption. The incentive to recruit warm bodies will be strong.
The plan includes the requirement that the students maintain a 2.5 GPA, but the institution receiving the money is the same one doing the grading.
Funding for community colleges should come from states and counties who can make better decisions for their locales than Washington bureaucrats.

>Free Education proposal - another middle finger to the middle class, especially former students who are paying back student loans and *could* face increased taxes as well (directly or indirectly) to fund this free education idea. Have to give this administration credit - they're very good at making life more difficult for certain people who are fighting to stay above water, in order to fall far short of their lofty goals. I give them an A for that one.

>It is rather ironic that Elizabeth Warren has been (correctly) criticizing the administration (and Hillary) for policies and proposed policies that just continue to hammer the lower-middle and middle class. (Though I really don't think she has any better ideas, but at least there's a level of honesty to her).
