>There's a very simple question here - if most Americans like ACA, why did the party that has campaigned on partial or complete repeal wind up winning the Senate with unexpected ease, and increase their hold on the House? If most Americans like ACA, why did the party that initially pushed it down everyone's throats appear to try to back off of it?

The senate question is irrelevant.
Senate seats are not representational and by intent, the senate does not necessarily represent the will of the majority of voters in the country at any moment.

If your house question is relevant, then this one is even more so - if the voters hated the ACA so much, why was Obama's victory over Mitt a slam dunk?

The answer, of course, is that there are a lot more things in play during an election than the ACA.

>My prediction, the Supreme Court will rule against the administration this summer on the subsidies issue, which will essentially cut ACA's legs.

I agree. But if they do, they'll just about ensure that the next occupant of the White House will be a Democrat.

No matter how much I might dislike a Democratic presidential candidate, the thought of more judges like Scalia, Thomas and Alito would prevent me from pulling the handle for a Republican.
Anyone who does not go overboard- deserves to.
